When I was a kid I thought I’d die young
Wave goodbye to everything and everyone
Twenty years go by and I’m still alive…
What to do with all this time?
Paint a rose and skip a dose, I suppose
Prep and meal and make a deal, and feel
All the things I do to make myself me
What do they mean?
What do they see that I don’t?
Why does it feel so important to be a thing, to be anything?
So I give a hug and take a drug… try to help someone
Try to help someone
I could never be like you:
Wave “Hello” then let it go, just like that
Always gotta chase a dream, pull a thing from a hat
Maybe one day I will learn
Until I do I’ll sing to you so I feel like I’ve earned it
All these feelings come and go
It doesn't make it any easier, you know
It doesn’t make it any easier, you know
It’ll all be over soon

about
Aug 13, 2021: Knock Knock, the second studio album by (Eli)zabeth Owens (they/them), is an ambitious and exhilarating departure from the psychedelic folk-rock sounds they’ve come to be known for. Showcasing an eclectic mix of electronic samples, experimental production and complex vocal layering atop lush arrangements of harp, piano and lead guitar, this avant-garde baroque-pop roller coaster makes for an intense and captivating listen.
Conceptually, Knock Knock is a continuation of Owens' "Coming of Age" saga. Told in three acts, the record explores themes of sobriety, ego deconstruction, and spiritual materialism.
After escaping the Tower of Forgetting and reaching the edge of the broken kingdom in Coming of Age, our young hero(ine) now faces the mountains ahead. Countless grueling attempts at scaling the beast later, they find themselves bruised and alone at the bottom of the rocks. While searching fruitlessly for a way around the merciless ridge, our hero discovers a different route: through. The digging begins.
Bio: English-born artist Elizabeth Owens has always held music close to their heart. Ten years of classical training in piano, voice, and guitar coupled with their experience in production & sound design makes Owens' genre-fluid blend of electro-baroque art-pop both classic and fresh.
After pursuing degrees in both Filmmaking & Psychology in Richmond, Virginia, Owens decided to focus their efforts on music production & education in 2014. Since then, they have been forging a path of relentless self-discovery and aural storytelling through such unique releases as Growing Pain and Coming of Age.

Cardinality's debut album Cardinality is just a wonderful album. It sounds wonderful and the lyrics are really strong, and the voices are just brilliant. All in all, just a wonderful listen.
Thank you for creating such a wonderful album. Kamani
